The Xbox One was released at 12:01 a.m. Friday morning selling out across the globe. According to PCMagaizne.com Microsoft sold more than a million consoles in the first 24 hours.
At my local Best Buy, about 100 people were in line to get their hands on Microsofts new shiny black box. The line consisted of avid gamers, college students and friends for moral support.
Texas State student DeMarcus Sparks waited in line for more than eight hours, hoping to take home the prize.
Two-thirds of all the consoles were pre-orders, but Microsoft managed to ship out a few more just before launch day- a welcomed gesture for those brave enough to stand in line before the holiday season.
This is the first time all three game console manufacturers released a new console in the same year, with Sony and Microsoft just one week apart.
