Just like the PlayStation 4 last week, Microsoft next-generation video game console, the Xbox One, has sold over one million consoles in just 24 hours.
According to a recent press release, the Xbox One has sold out at most retailers because of, “unprecedented demand from our customers.”
Many industry observers predicted Sony’s PS4 would outsell the Xbox One by a significant margin, mainly due to the negative public attention the console received a few months ago because of its restrictive DRM policies and use game blocking features.
Microsoft eventually pulled a full 180 and reversed these policies.
It’s important to keep in mind that the Xbox One launched in 13 different markets on Friday, where as the PlayStation 4 only launched in North America. This means the Xbox One launched in significantly more regions than the PS4.
