My Nintendo News

Information regarding the Sonic The Hedgehog film have leaked online. The producers behind the film are apparently aiming to create something dark and edgy. The film is apparently geared towards an older audience and will feature a mix of live-action and animation. The only thing the film needs now is a writer for the project. Here’s the shortlist.

  • Brad Bird (“Incredibles, “”Wall-E,” “Brave,” “Toy Story 2,” “Up”)
  • Wernick & Reese (“Deadpool,” “Monsters Inc,” “Zombieland,” “GI Joe Retaliation”)
  • David Berenbaum (“The Spiderwick Chronicles,” “Elf”)
  • Phil Johnston (“Wreck it Ralph” and “Nebraska”)

SONY DSC

It was 2010 when Sony engineers first explored virtual reality concepts. The idea of a VR headset sprang from another project at the company: PlayStation Move, a wand-like motion controller for the PlayStation 3. Company engineers attached the controller to head-mounted displays, enabling a form of homemade VR via motion and depth tracking. Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida was asked to try these early prototypes, one which put the player into the role of Kratos in God of War 3 and the other a mod of Half-Life 2 where you could lift up and look at your own gun. ?That was a totally compelling experience, so I became a believer,? Yoshida told us in an interview this week, post-Project Morpheus announcement. ?It was a ?wow? moment!?

So, what?s Project Morpheus? It?s the somewhat silly code name (from the Greek God of Dreams) for…

My Nintendo News

Collin van Ginkel, the designer and one of the founders of Two Tribes, has told Nintendo Latino that the company has no intentions of making another Toki Tori game. Collin says that Toki Tori 2 didn’t perform as well as the company had hoped, so he says the development team will move on and tackle another genre.

“Well, since Toki Tori 2+ didn’t perform as well as we had hoped, we’ve decided that we are not going to be making a new Toki Tori game, ever. He’ll be back in some easter egg probably, but we are moving on and taking on other genres.”

In an exclusive announcement release from Deadline, Sony’s Screen Gems will be producing a live-action adaptation of 2013’s The Last of Us.

Screen Gems confirmed that Naughty Dog’s creative director, Neil Druckmann will pen the script, and the film’s “creative architects” will be Naughty Dog’s co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra teamed with Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Evil Dead).

“Screen Gems’ Brian Dukes and Eric Ling brought this game to my attention insisting we go after it,” explained Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper in the interview with Deadline, “and when I saw the quality of the storytelling, I knew the audience for this project was far greater than just the gaming community and that Neil Druckmann must write the screenplay.”

Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells added that the company has been in talks with a plethora of film companies interested in adapting the game since its release, and…

Crunch Time

Something that I have been seeing in Battlefield since the start of Hardcore Mode in Bad Company 2 is how it is “easy mode” and not really “hardcore”. I’ve seen it a lot lately that I thought I would post about it some and go ahead and get my thoughts out there on it as well.

First, I have always played both modes and if either regular mode or hardcore mode ever fell away forever, I would be fine. I play both modes to work on areas of my game that I feel are slacking or need improvements on. Both modes can help accomplish that.
